As consultants it has been wonderfully gratifying to work with a team, remotely, and still efficiently with an incredible amount of camaraderie. We all have our own talents, skill sets, and amazing abilities. However, its time when we are under pressure, and want to put them to use for good is when we become incredible. We feel at Omega Ortega that this is what has compelled us to participate, and be successful in a few of the past hackathons.
This past week at the Salesforce hackathon (at Dreamforce) in San Francisco, we had Bootstrapper Studios follow us for 4 days, filming a documentary on our team and how we operate. Some of the ideas that have been in developed, have given us the freedom to be successful by thinking differently because we simply wanted to affect change, instead of just focusing on monetary compensation. Rewards will come, but I feel that many people forget in business that perhaps the greatest reward is getting to work with those you are close to, and work well with, during the schedule that you can command.
Capital is great, but friends, family and simply being able to live is much more valuable.
Now, if someone would have got me to shut up a bit as I do start to ramble. I mentioned to Tom that next time, perhaps he should kick me in the knee to remind me that I am digressing.
